I use only internal DNS server and same hostname for both internal and external URL for setting up the virtual Directory for ECP,EWS,OWA,MAPI I deployed the windows 2012 R2 with Exchange 2016 and configured all services like MAPI over HTTP, Outlook Anywhere, AutoDiscover, Exchange ActiveSync etc., and verified i am able to access the OWA and ECP from my network.
